Our Mission

La Union Jiu Jitsu is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals of all skill levels can learn and grow in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Our mission is to empower members through disciplined training, promote physical fitness and mental resilience, and cultivate a community built on respect, integrity, and continuous improvement. We strive to encourage innovation and personal development, making La Union Jiu-Jitsu a place where everyone can achieve their full potential both on and off the mat.

“AT LA UNION, PEOPLE MATTER”

— Professor Sam

Meet the founder

Sammy Noyola was born in Oakland, CA He grew up in the streets of Santa Ana and eventually wrestled at both Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana College. In 2010, he served in the US Army and obtained the rank of sergeant. During this time, he began his journey into the art of jiu-jitsu and has been a practitioner for over 14 years. Sammy believes that individuality and having a perfect balance of fun and structure lead to an overall better Jiu-Jitsu experience. As a result, He founded La Union Jiu-Jitsu to break away from the norm of traditional jiu-jitsu customs and form an academy that is truly student-centered.
