Professor Sam
Sam Noyola was born in Oakland, CA, and grew up in the streets of Santa Ana. He wrestled at both Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana College, building the grit and work ethic that would define his path.
In 2010, he served in the US Army and obtained the rank of sergeant. During this time, he began his journey into the art of jiu jitsu and has been a practitioner for over 14 years.
Sammy believes that individuality and a perfect balance of fun and structure lead to an overall better jiu jitsu experience. He founded La Union Jiu Jitsu to break away from the norm of traditional jiu jitsu customs and form an academy that is truly student-centered.
What we’re about
La Union was built to break away from the old way of doing jiu jitsu. We keep classes student-centered, with room for individuality and a balance of fun and structure. Our academy on North Glassell Street sits a few minutes from Old Towne Orange, with a 1,000-square-foot mat, a heated and ventilated training room, and on-site showers so you can train hard year-round and get straight to the rest of your day.
